How to hang paper around difficult areas.
Hang paper around doors and windows:
Hang the entire strip of paper over the door or window and smooth into wall before trimming.
Make diagonal cuts in the wallpaper at the corners of door or window molding to position paper flat against wall and molding edge.
Trim excess with a razor knife.
Hang paper around electrical oulets:
Remember, electrical power should be off!
Hang strip over outlet, cut an "X" into strip and trim each of the 4 flaps to edges of outlet.
Hang paper around toilet and radiator pipes and permanent fixtures:
With scissors, cut vertically up to where the paper will meet the pipe or fixture.
Smooth paper into place around the pipe or fixture. Carefully trim around pipe or fixture with a razor knife.
Resmooth paper at the vertical cut making sure the edges are butting.
Use a yardstick to smooth paper down behind toilet tanks etc.
Hang paper around plumbing and heating pipes:
Smooth strip up to edge of pipe.
Cut horizontal slit into side of strip to reach pipe.
Cut a hole at the end of the slit to fit around pipe.
Touch together the edges of slit and smooth.
